Understanding Wife-Beater Logic.

,

I have said this for years: governments are run by wife-beater logic.

2020 has been defined by this logic, but rarely has someone else had the guts to say it.

This quote in the Hill Times was refreshingly honest and on point:

“We’re supposed to accept that they can do to us whatever it is they want, however spontaneously they decide, and that not only are we not to retaliate, but we’re not to look for alternatives,” said former Canadian diplomat Roy Norton, who twice served as consul general in Chicago and Detroit.

“It’s almost like being in an abusive relationship whereby you aren’t allowed to leave,” he said.
Norton said that there is no indication that the U.S. is interested in surrendering its freedom to act in favour of a North American triumvirate.

“It would seem, by contrast, that we’re all supposed to echo whatever it is the president of the United States—in the middle of the night—decides he’s going to post on Truth Social because he’s bent out of shape at somebody or some country or something,” he added. “You can’t work that way.”

Hill Times, August 26, 2026.

Except it is not almost.

This is an abusive relationship. The president of the United States liberally runs the country like a wife-beater.

And you do not give an inch to that kind of thinking. Period.
