The CBS News Cringefest Continues

Reading about CBS News’s “all hands” (but no brain) meeting was hilarious.

That Bari Weiss thinks she can lure “the kids” to hang out in what she openly treats like an old folks’ home is one for the books.

That ain’t happening.

My favourite quote:

Weiss delivered a PowerPoint presentation that outlined her view on the state of media and how CBS can remain relevant in a challenging time for broadcast news.

Yeah, because nothing says Visionary of the Future like PowerPoint. OMG.

There is a lot of big talk, narcissism, reaction, vagueness, and the subtextual belittling of the people who work there: well, you won Emmys and countless other prestigious awards, but hey, you did it all wrong!

That’s going to go over really well. (Because this is 2026 and not 1996, I did what any competent reporter should do: I used an AI research assistant to compile a decade of CBS News awards, and I’m labeling that clearly. You can download the full breakdown above and check the receipts yourself.)

It takes a special kind of disruptor to look at a newsroom stacked with Emmys, Peabodys, Murrows, and duPonts and decide the real problem is that they haven’t had enough of her PowerPoints yet.
