In Canada, You’ll Get a Spit in the Face for Being Honest. The Rest Get a Free Pass.
Bad journalism is dishonest journalism. Read this article from CP24.
Why is it bad? This passge:
As a result of the investigation a 34-year-old woman from Burlington faces multiple charges including 34 counts of fraud under $5000, 13 counts of theft under $5000, seven counts of disobeying a court order, four counts of Criminal Breach of Trust, two counts of fraud over $5000, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, theft over $5000 and personation with intent.
Who is this woman? What is her name? You don’t know because the reporter never bothers to mention it, but this is absolutely crucial because there is a deeper story here that you won’t know from reading this article.
Here is a better article from Orilla Matters:
A former Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) staffer, charged following an investigation at the hospital earlier this year, is now facing new charges related to similar incidents at several other Ontario hospitals.
Nassim Eronn, a 34-year-old Burlington woman, was charged in May of 2026 following an investigation into alleged theft and fraud at the Orillia hospital.
Not only do we know the suspect’s name, but that she actually worked for the hospital. This allows other victims to come forward because they know the main details of the crimes.
It also allows us to see if this person has done anything like this in the past.
The Grimsby-Lincoln News has this to say on August 24, 2019:
Niagara police have requested an arrest warrant for a 27-year-old Grimsby woman accused of stealing from an elderly woman who was receiving palliative care.
In July, the Niagara Regional Police Service began investigating the reported theft. Detectives determined the suspect was employed by a care agency and was working in the victim’s home at the time of the offence…
Police say they are not identifying the name or location of the agency in order to prevent the privacy of the victim.
The investigation has led police to charge the accused, Nassim F. Eronn, with identity fraud, fraud, theft and fail to comply with probation.
Her whereabouts are unknown. A warrant for her arrest has been requested.
The Toronto Sun did their homework and have the most detailed article on the 2026 incident:
A 34-year-old woman – previously called “a ruthless criminal” by a judge – is accused of stealing and defrauding patients and staff at numerous hospitals in Toronto and elsewhere in Southern Ontario.
And she has a history of preying on the vulnerable.
Ontario Provincial Police initially arrested Nassim Eronn in May and charged her with charged with disobeying a court order and making a false statement in writing under the Criminal Code of Canada stemming from a theft and fraud investigation at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.
The nature of her previous crime is quite infuriating:
In 2019, Eronn was convicted of identity fraud and failure to comply with a probation order for stealing cash from a palliative patient – a 70-year-old woman whom she was caring for in the senior’s St. Catharines’ home while employed by the Victorian Order of Nurses.
Eronn logged into the patient’s online banking in July 2019 and transferred $970 to a different account, the Niagara Falls Review reported back then.
And the judge said something most normal people would be asking, too:
The judge also questioned how Eronn was hired by the VON when she had a number of fraud-related convictions, including forgery and credit card theft, dating back to 2017 and was on probation with the condition she would not apply to work anywhere that requires a vulnerable-sector check by police.
“How in the world did you get that job?” Brownstone asked the fraudster. “Something went very, very wrong here.”
And yet, here we are in 2026, and she still continued to get hired to prey on innocent people in multiple hospitals there is no excuse. She should have been vetted and lies should have been detected long before she was hired.
The question is why.
Why on Earth would predator with no impulse control or morals, but a grandiose sense of entitlement be allowed to repeatedly get a job at a hospital?
And how many honest people lost out to the job in the bargain?
She has had multiple convictions. She should not have been hired in 2019, and she should not have been hired in 2026.
With taxpayer money. In a hospital setting.
Journalists should not hide names of the accused. A basic search engine would have shown that this woman had a long history in this department, and an AI-based one would have generated a detailed report.
But here we go, spitting in the faces of honest people while people who cannot be trusted get as many chances as they want.
