Donald Trump’s wishful thinking strikes again.

I love this quote:

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said he thinks the Canadian side will contact him in the next three or four weeks and the United States will “win everything.”

“They’re gonna come in and they’re gonna say, ‘Sir, we are sorry,’” Trump said. “They’ve treated the United States very, very badly. I think a deal will be made but it’s gonna be fair.”

No, they won’t. The US mid-terms are 35 days away. Canada can afford to wait it out.

Especially as the US treated Canada, very, very badly.

In a little over four weeks, the Democrats win the Senate and the House.

And then he will be too busy fighting for his own survival.

Trump has messed up the middle-class economy. He has alienated the Independents who put him in power. He shrinking and aging MAGA base cannot save him.

They can try to stop foreigners from “meddling” in the elections. It won’t make a difference. They have their own citizens to worry about because they made their lives much poorer and much harder, and people won’t forget that in 35 days.
