The Canadian federal government doesn’t know how to fight. They had a potash card to play, and now Trump is trying to negate this by claiming the US is going to get it cheaper from Belarus, which is funny because the transportation costs now with the price of gas and the distance is not any sort of solution.

In fact, the potash will come later than if it came from Canada, and, more importantly, Belarus does not have the infrastructure to deliver it in the quantities the US need and it will cost the US much, much more, even if the potash costs less. Thanks to the war in Iran, the cost to deliver will be significant more, meaning food prices in the US will skyrocket long before the November elections.

Had the Canadian government had guts, they should have cut it off months ago before the US could have made alleged alternative plans.

This is nose-tweaking, of course during the mid-terms, but the Canadian government has much to answer for. Running to EU is no answer. It’s still avoidance.

And it’s not a good look.
