Swiss Voters Reject Being Treated Like Livestock

,

Do people in charge know any other scaffolding?

This isn’t so much about reproductive rights, but curbing disastrous immigration policies.

A rejection of all immigration brings stagnation, but a open door policy brings instability. Opening floodgates is not a bright idea for a myriad of reasons because, in the end, everyone loses. Both extremes scream desperation, and desperation never brought about a viable solution.

Immigration requires careful cultivation and weaving one group of people within another. Introducing chaos allows various bad actors to exploit other people on both sides of the equation, and then resentments begin.

But governments don’t open floodgates because they are competent. They let people in when their birthrates are declining, and their citizens don’t want or are not able to take on manual labor jobs. It is always seen as a quick-fix.

But the opposite: shutting out everyone isn’t the solution, either. However, the pendulum swung too far one way, and now it’s swinging the other on a global scale. This is how resentment and vengeance take root and grow, and unless you have a sense of balance and scruples, neither extreme actions will correct the consequences of finding a quick fix.
