Does YouTube Shadowban users? You better believe it.
This has been happening to many people, me included.
The problem is you get no accountability: who is doing the shadowbanning, why, and how.
If your numbers are low and the algorithms don’t put you on the sidescroll, know it is not by accident.
I put True Crime, Wrong Story on YouTube, with abysmal results. On the other hand, I put The World’s Most Dangerous Woman exclusively on this website and I get 200-500 hits, which makes zero sense. I get no luck on SubStack, either, but here? It’s a different story.
The point is to discourage people from posting and give up.
That’s not happening.
In fact, the only videos I seem to get are ones about getting demonetized and other YouTube punishments. For a true crime channel? That’s not an algorithm: that’s a threat.
KlueIQ will be on my website soon enough.
If you are not getting hits, or your hits keep getting downgraded, it’s them, and not you. That means if some channels are artificially downgraded, it means others are artificially inflated.
But it’s not just YouTube. Alphabet’s other properties, such as Google and Monster Insights are equally sketchy.
When I used Monster Insights, I was lucky to get 15 hits a day. I switched to another analytic plugin, and watched my numbers go up to hundreds in a single day. This is not acceptable. There is no transparency. There is no accountability. People assume that there is some magical objective measure, and there isn’t. I am surprise no one has sued Alphabet for their corrupt practices.
I don’t do a lot of advertising, so I don’t expect thousands of hits, but notice how people who have a couple of million subscribers don’t even reach that benchmark.
If your numbers are low, get rid of Monster Insights. Host your videos on your own website. Don’t use Google. They are actively trying to destroy smaller websites by scraping from them. Yes, I am very Pro-AI, but Google is another beast, and a very mean and selfish one. Their mandate is to gain dominance at the expense of other websites. If you use Google, absolutely make sure you click the website in question. It may not register if they use Monster Insights, but Alphabet will know that they can’t always get their own way. They have enough billions.
