Globe & Mail: “Expert” Propaganda Rears its Dorky Head Again
I love this.

That was the smug headline. Where these magical 10,000 jobs would come from is anyone’s guess.
And then cue in shoe drop.

The realistic headline.
There is no way on the face of this Earth that Canada, a country completely dependent on the United States for its existence, could be in a trade war and gain jobs.
For any “expert” who thought otherwise, should get their titles revoked as well as any media outlet who reported it with a straight face.
This isn’t a minor error. The entire reason Donald Trump picked on Canada was because he knew of its utter over-reliance on the US. Canada is in a precarious position, but it’s not beyond fixing.
But it’s not actually being fixed. Tariffs were declared illegal, but with the kerfuffle in Iran, gas prices are going to make a bad economy even worse.
Bad journalism is not helping things. Neither are pseudo-experts. The ostrich syndrome has gotten this country nowhere, and that won’t change until facts are presented to the public honestly and without manipulation.
