Missing the big picture of Mark Carney’s Davos Speech
I am not much into political theatre. Speeches, like press conferences, are canned events with little to no news value.
But Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney gave a speech that caused reporters to notice it.

Except they noticed all the wrong things.
First of all, the current disruption is temporary. In 2020, COVID-19 theatre seemed to be something permanent, but none of the players or the policies remained.
This, too, shall pass, and most likely sooner rather than later. The house of cards is already falling. The elite panic is very telling, however.
But what journalists missed in Carney’ speech is quite amusing.
And he used the phrase no less than four times in a single speech.

If you’re still too obtuse to see it, it is the phrase American hegemony and its derivatives.
This is not the talk of a G7 country. This is common parlance of a BRICS nation.
For a Western leader to use the phrase multiple times in a single speech is absolutely fascinating, but that journalists failed to see the obvious isn’t…
