When AI Did Not Prove to be Fast-Moving Tsunami, Then Claim It is a Slow One.

,

This article is a riot.

IMF’s Kristalina Georgieva is trying to do just that with claiming AI is a “slow-moving tsunami” that is going to wreck the job market, and it has to be regulated to death.

Uh, no.

AI does change the nature of jobs, and it creates new kinds of jobs.

The problem is people with paper crowns don’t think they need AI literacy because the paper crown magically makes them experts at everything; so they sound the alarm, scaring the little people who also don’t think upgrading their skills is a good idea.

But the job apocalypse did not happen as predicted; so now change the speed instead of admit you were wrong.

Western nations tend not to think AI literacy is important, while other countries do and make sure their grade school children know more about AI than people who work for the IMF.

In Ontario, for instance, AI job opportunities are classified as “limited.” Ontario may be a province run by yokels, but the other Canadian provinces are a little more on the ball.

However, while AI will transform jobs, it’s not proving to be a job killer as the Doomers would have us believe.

It’s called progress, kids.
