How Canadian Democracy is One Lobbyist Visit Away from Destruction.
This article from Peter Nowak is a must-read.
This passage is chilling:
In a presentation to deputy Transport Canada minister Arun Thangaraj on Jan. 12, acquired by Do Not Pass Go through a freedom of information request, the Western Canadian Shippers’ Coalition (WCSC) said repeated port and rail strikes were costing Canada billions in economic losses and damaging its reputation as a reliable trading partner.
Strikes do not cost the economy “billions.” Bad management that wants people to work for pennies costs, and then take that money to spend on lobbyists is what is costing the economy billions.
The fact that the so-called “Liberal” government dutifully went along with the propagandistic narrative and happily wants to change the law so their citizens are even more broke and oppressed is disturbing.
If companies are not kept in check, they will demand people get chained and work for free. The federal regime seems bent on making sure people in power face no consequence for being wrong…and get rewarded for it.
