Donald Trump is a man who has a lot to hide and even more to be ashamed of.

His argument is a real knee-slapper:

The Justice Department argued that Donald Trump can legally ban CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House because he determined that they didn’t meet the “minimum requirements of professionalism.”

This will not fly. You cannot argue that three veteran award-winning media outlets were all unprofessional just because they aren’t fawning all over you, and you repeatedly malign them, showing your own biases.

There is no proof. Trump was praising the Chinese press for being obedient. That’s not the role of the press.

Given the state of the economy, we know this administration is incompetent. They don’t like the fact that their incompetence is being exposed. And being this close to mid-terms, this gambit is self-serving.

The more Trump flaps his gums, the more he reveals himself as weak and incapable.

You can’t ban the press because they don’t drool over you or buy your grift, and given the rest of the press have stood in solidarity behind their colleagues, Trump is making things worse for himself.

But if he wants to dig himself even deeper in the hole he made for himself, let him.
