Much ado about Canada and the EU.

This idea was floated as a trial balloon in the Wall Street Journal first.

And then the typical denials.

All this was predictable misdirection and manipulation. What does joining the EU actually mean?

Mostly paying a lot to the EU and following the rules. It’s like living in a condo with a super-strict and meddlesome board with huge fees.

This is not the fantastical alternative to being overly reliant to the US as it seems to be.

It would be better to cut off potash, nickel, lumber, and electricity right now. It undermines President What’s His Face’s lie that the US doesn’t need Canada. If people sit in the park and farmers have no fertilizer right at mid-terms, he won’t have a misdirection strong enough to get out of it.

Trade to the EU doesn’t mean having to be an “associate member”, but Canada is in panic mode and it shows.
