Miami Herald Gets Slashed, Unemployed Journalists Still Don’t Get It.
The Miami Herald has been gutted.
This news should not be surprising. The model of journalism is antiquated, and I wrote about this extensively in many of my books.
I sounded the alarm for years. I was ignored. Even now, journalists are acting as if they are owed those jobs.
You’re not.
Communications changed with the Internet, and journalism never kept up with this fact. Then came social media, and now AI.
All tools that journalism should have used in novel ways to keep people interested.
Instead, they stuck to old scripts and now fret over news deserts.
Never mind the innovation deserts.
I don’t take pleasure in any of these turn of events, it just was a foregone conclusion when people stick to ways that no longer apply to a modern world.
