In a “Perfect World”, You Don’t Rely on Daddy Government.
My family came from a country where industries were nationalized, and that country collapsed.
For a reason.
Because Daddy Government is a lousy business model.
But you have adults who think a perfect world involves a government overlooking everything.
We don’t ask the hard questions in Canada; namely, why don’t we have people in this country who are capable of running a company that produces something of value.
And Crown corporations don’t tend to do well: Canada Post bleeds money. Candu was sold to the private sector because it was also unprofitable.
Hard solutions don’t come with easy answers. In a perfect world, we would study a problem, look at history, and look for different methods, not fall back on actions that made things worse in the long run.
