The boss talks more about loyalty than competence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In a normal workplace, people ask about your skills, your experience, and what you can contribute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In goonworld, the boss wants to know if you\u2019re \u201cride or die.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">If the interview includes more questions about whether you\u2019ll \u201chave their back,\u201d \u201cstick with them no matter what,\u201d or \u201cnever embarrass them in public\u201d than about what you can actually do, you are not being hired for your expertise. You are being screened for obedience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">You\u2019re not a colleague in this scenario. You\u2019re a potential bodyguard for their reputation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-disagreement-is-treated-as-betrayal\">2. Disagreement is treated as betrayal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Healthy workplaces expect questions, pushback, and \u201cAre you sure this is legal?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Goon employers react to basic questions like you just keyed their car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Watch the reaction when you ask a perfectly reasonable thing, like: \u201cWhat are the metrics for success?\u201d or \u201cWhat\u2019s the process if we think a decision is wrong?\u201d If you get a tight smile, a lecture about \u201cbeing a team player,\u201d and a reminder that \u201cwe don\u2019t do negativity here,\u201d that\u2019s not culture. That\u2019s a purification ritual. It tells you exactly what will be said about you the moment you\u2019re no longer useful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In a workplace, people leave. You\u2019re being groomed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"6-the-leader-needs-constant-public-displays-of-dev\">6. The leader needs constant public displays of devotion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Is the boss measuring your value in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">How often you praise them on social media,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">How quickly you echo their talking points,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Whether you immediately laugh at their \u201cjokes\u201d about enemies,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">rather than whether you actually do your job?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Public devotion as KPI is a goon\u2011world classic. You\u2019re not being evaluated on output; you\u2019re being evaluated on worship. You\u2019re not an employee; you\u2019re stage decoration with a pulse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"7-everything-is-for-the-cause-nothing-is-accountab\">7. Everything is \u201cfor the cause,\u201d nothing is accountable<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">If every corner cut, every lie told, and every person smeared is justified as being \u201cfor the cause,\u201d you\u2019re no longer in the realm of normal professional ethics. You\u2019re in mission\u2011from\u2011God territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Goon gigs hide behind grand narratives, \u201csaving the country,\u201d \u201cprotecting the movement,\u201d \u201cdefeating the enemy\u201d, because those stories create cover for things that would otherwise look exactly like what they are: abuse, exploitation, and grift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">When someone says, \u201cYou wouldn\u2019t want to let the team down over some technicality like the law, would you?\u201d that\u2019s your cue to run, not your cue to prove your loyalty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"8-the-chaos-is-the-feature-not-the-bug\">8.
