Thought thieving is alive and well at the Washington Post

They have dismissed a journalist for what they won't call plagiarism...but it is plagiarism.

Attributing information is not hard, but journalism has always been rife with thought thieving. I have written things here that were taken by other outlets without attribution. I have pitched ideas to outlets that were brazenly stolen. This is thought theft, plain and simple -- and it takes a lot of it to force and outlet to fire someone, but even then, they will try to bury the cause by buffering it with doublespeak...
